  • Hello! My name is Betty…

I’m a twenty-something, happily-married gal. I’m an office manager by day and a foodie/blogger/couch potato at night.  I decided to start this blog because I want to document my journey to motherhood. I’m not pregnant and I don’t plan on getting pregnant anytime soon (my definition of soon changes everyday)  but my interest in pregnancy, babies and motherhood has recently been piqued. Maybe it’s because of my age and place in life or maybe because a close friend recently had a baby, I’m not sure. But one thing’s for certain- I have babies on the brain.

I hope to learn much from other soon-to-be (or eventually-to-be) and veteran moms and also want to share my experiences on this journey as well. Please feel free to subscribe to me and I will do the same. Thanks!

  • Hey Betty! Hopefully after a short while you will decide to dive head first into the TTC pool! There is so much to learn with different abbreviations and such and I am still learning most of them. A great place to study up on everything having to do with trying and pregnancy is http://www.babycenter.com I am there literally several times a day. I have joined a board (to discuss TTC and such) in the Trying to Conceive After a Loss. My husband and I, otherwise known as Jesse, lost our first child, a daughter named Lorelai Elizabeth, she had a cyst in her left lung and was born at 32 wks 5 days and she lived for 18 min before returning to heaven. Another great site to go on is http://www.fertilityfriend.com and you can go there to chart your Basal Body Temp (BBT). I am on metaformin because my doctor thinks I have PCOS, I confirm the ultrasound (u/s) on May 5th. This is also my first cycle of clomid. Here are some important abb. BFP -Big Fat Positive which is a positive pregnancy test BFN- Big Fat Negative which is a negative pregnancy test O- is ovulation BD-Baby Dance which is obviously sex. If you ever have any questions or would like to talk you can get me on xanga or mrsaturner@yahoo.com hope to talk to you again!

  • @Isa83 - Thanks so much for the advice and recs Isa! I’m so sorry for your loss and hope that you will get a BFP soon! I’ll definitely be seeing you around!

  • Welcome to xanga and almost to the world of ttc. Hoping yours is short!!

  • Welcome to Xanga, Elizabeth!  I hope your journey to motherhood is truly blessed!

  • Hello Mrs. Betty,
I want to bring an important message to people who are burdened by the problems of this world: 18 That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth. (Psalms 83:18) (KJV)

  • I just posted a blog entry about the thought of being pregnant. Check it out!

  • After reading your post on mamaroo today I’m guessing you changed your mind not too long after writing this one? Anyway I just wanted to stop in and say that you had a good post and I will link to it when I get mine finished on a similar topic.

  • Saw your article on momaroo. Just wanted to stop in and say hello :)

  • Elizabeth, Pregnancy and babies are a fascinating subject. I had a miscarriage at 16 weeks and had often wondered if the difficult times I was going through may have an effect on the development. The medical community has not done research on the link between a woman’s emotional state and the healthy development of the fetus. At least I am not aware of any. Since I am a Christ-follower, I believe that our body, mind, and spirit are linked.

Thank you for sharing your interest in the topic.

  • Congratulations….it’s sometimes a wonderful world.

  • Hey Betty! Welcome to the crazy world of motherhood (or soon to be motherhood for some!). I’m 20 years old, happily married, and expecting our son (first child) in July. It’s a BEAUTIFUL journey…even the frustrating part of TTC, but it is so well worth it

    Best wishes!
